Leave empty to accept every comment.
Your own account or staff, separated by commas.
Optional. Shown on the result card and the image.
Step 3: Draw
Waiting for your list · 1 winner
This site does not log in to YouTube and does not fetch comments by itself: you copy the list and paste it. See how to copy the comments.
How do you pick a random comment on YouTube?
Copy the comments under the video, paste them in the box above and press Draw. You can keep one entry per channel, accept only comments with a word or hashtag, draw several winners with backups and share a link that repeats the result.
Nothing you paste leaves your device, and there is no account to create. If you want the rules of the giveaway ready before you post, use the giveaway rules generator.
How to copy the comments of a YouTube video
This site does not read the comments for you. It takes about a minute to copy them.
Step 1: Open the video in a computer browser
Go to the watch page of the video on youtube.com. For a Short, open its comments panel.
Step 2: Load every comment
Scroll down the comment section until no more comments load. Replies to other comments stay folded; open them only if replies also count as entries.
Step 3: Select and copy
Click before the first comment, hold Shift and click after the last one, then copy (Ctrl+C on Windows, Cmd+C on Mac).
Step 4: Paste and check
Paste in step 1 with “Copied comments” selected and open “Check how the list was read”. Each @handle should be next to its own comment.

Ways to enter a giveaway on YouTube, and how to draw each one
Pick the line that matches your giveaway and set step 2 the same way.
| How people enter | Where the list comes from | Filters in step 2 |
|---|---|---|
| Comment to enter | Copy all the comments under the video. | One entry per person, so that nobody gains by commenting many times. |
| Comment with a keyword or an answer | Copy all the comments under the video. | Must contain a word or #hashtag. |
| Live stream chat | Copy the chat messages after the stream, or type the names of the viewers who entered. | One entry per person. |
| Subscribers | We know no simple way to copy a full subscriber list. Use comments as the entry. | Not applicable. |
Example: 8 comments, the word #giveaway, 2 winners and 1 backup
A full draw written out. Paste the same list with the same seed on the verify page and you get the same names.
Eight comments were copied from under the video.
@retro_rae and @dj_orbit did not write #giveaway: 2 comments out. Capital letters do not matter, so “#Giveaway” counts.
@pixel_pat commented twice and each channel enters once: the second comment is out.
Five channels take part: pixel_pat, lunar.lee, code_cam, maya-plays and sky.noor. Each has 1 chance in 5 for the first name drawn.
Seed used: a1b2c3d4e5f60718293a4b5c6d7e8f90
Winners: maya-plays and lunar.lee · Backup: sky.noor · Code GT-227B3-7F87B
Out of 8 comments, 5 entries went into the draw. The filters run in a fixed order: accounts that cannot win, the required word, the tagged friends, repeated lines and, last, extra entries of the same person.
The code GT-227B3-7F87B ties together the list, the seed and the names drawn. If one comment is added or removed, or a name is swapped, the code no longer matches. That is what lets someone else check your result.
YouTube giveaway rules: what the platform asks for
Read on the platform’s own page. The link and the date are under each card.
YouTube’s contest policies and guidelines
- The contest must be free of charge to enter.
- You cannot ask viewers to give you all rights to, or ownership of, their entry.
- You may not manipulate views, likes, dislikes or subscriber numbers.
- You need a set of Official Rules that links to the YouTube Community Guidelines and says that entries that do not comply will be disqualified.
- The rules must say that YouTube is not a sponsor and must require viewers to release YouTube from any liability related to the contest.
- The rules must include a legally compliant privacy notice explaining how you will use the personal data you collect.
- Contests cannot be run through ad units, and you cannot suggest that YouTube is involved without its prior written consent.
“Your contest must be free of charge to enter (don’t forget to check your local lottery laws!).”

What it means for your giveaway
- YouTube requires a set of Official Rules. They must link to the Community Guidelines, say that entries that do not comply are disqualified, say that YouTube is not a sponsor, release YouTube from liability and include a privacy notice.
- The contest must be free to enter, and you cannot ask viewers to hand over the rights to their entry.
- Do not make the prize depend on inflating numbers. YouTube forbids manipulating views, likes, dislikes or subscribers; a random draw among people who left a comment keeps you clear of “the comment with most likes wins”.
Frequently asked questions
Is this YouTube comment picker free?
Yes. It is free, with no sign-up and no limit on the number of comments you paste. The draw runs in your browser.
Do I need to connect my YouTube channel?
No. The site never asks for your password or for access to your account, and it does not read comments by itself. You copy the comments and paste them, and the draw runs in your browser.
Can I paste the video URL instead of the comments?
No. Loading comments from a URL needs an API key or a login, and this site uses neither. You copy the comments from the video page and paste them.
Does it work for Shorts and live streams?
Yes. Anything you can copy as text works: comments of a video or a Short, or the chat of a finished live stream. Paste it and check how it was read before drawing.
Are replies included?
Only if you copy them. Replies stay folded under each comment on YouTube; if you do not open them, they are not in the text you copy.
How do I avoid the same person winning twice?
Turn on “One entry per person”. The picker then keeps the first comment of each channel, and no channel can be drawn more than once.
What are YouTube’s rules for giveaways?
YouTube’s contest policies say the contest must be free to enter, must have Official Rules that link to the Community Guidelines, state that YouTube is not a sponsor and release YouTube from liability, and must include a privacy notice. Metrics such as views, likes or subscribers may not be manipulated.
How can viewers check the result?
Show the verification code and the proof link in the video or in a pinned comment. With the same list of comments, anyone gets the same winners and the same code on the verify page.
