Step 3: Draw

Waiting for your list · 1 winner

This site does not log in to Facebook and does not fetch comments by itself: you copy the list and paste it. See how to copy the comments.

How do you pick a winner from Facebook comments?

Copy the comments of the giveaway post, paste them in the box above and press Draw. The picker removes repeated comments, keeps one entry per person if you want, and gives you a verification code and a link that repeat the same result.

Nothing you paste leaves your device, and there is no account to create. If you want the rules of the giveaway ready before you post, use the giveaway rules generator.

How to copy the comments of a Facebook post

This site does not read the comments for you. It takes about a minute to copy them.

  1. Step 1: Open the post on its own page

On a computer, open the giveaway post by clicking its date, so the post and its comments fill the screen.

  2. Step 2: Show all the comments

If the post shows only a selection, such as the most relevant comments, change the filter to show all of them and keep pressing the link that loads more until it disappears.

  3. Step 3: Select and copy

Click before the first comment, hold Shift and click after the last one, then copy (Ctrl+C on Windows, Cmd+C on Mac).

  4. Step 4: Paste and check

Paste in step 1 with “Copied comments” selected and open “Check how the list was read”. Each name should be next to its own comment.

Not confirmed. How to copy comments: the steps on each platform page describe the screens in general terms. We could not test them with a signed-in account, and the apps change their menus often.

Ways to enter a giveaway on Facebook, and how to draw each one

How people enterWhere the list comes fromFilters in step 2
Comment to enterCopy all the comments of the post.Remove duplicate lines and keep one entry per person.
Comment with an answer or a wordCopy all the comments of the post.Must contain a word or #hashtag.
Reactions (likes)Open the list of people who reacted and copy the names, or type them one per line. One entry per person.
Share the post or tag friendsDo not use these as a condition: Meta’s policy does not allow it.Not applicable.
Group members or event guestsCopy the names from the list of members or guests, one per line.Remove duplicate lines.

Example: 7 comments, one entry per person, 1 winner and 2 backups

A full draw written out. Paste the same list with the same seed on the verify page and you get the same names.

From the pasted comments to the result

Seven comments were copied from the Page post.

Maria Lopez posted the same comment twice: the repeated line is out.

Dan O’Brien commented two different times and each person enters once: the second comment is out.

Five people take part: Maria Lopez, Dan O’Brien, Priya Nair, Tomás Silva and Wei Chen. Each has 1 chance in 5.

Seed used: feedfacefeedfacefeedfacefeedface

Winner: Wei Chen · Backups: Priya Nair, Tomás Silva · Code GT-FCE25-4989A

Out of 7 comments, 5 entries went into the draw. The filters run in a fixed order: accounts that cannot win, the required word, the tagged friends, repeated lines and, last, extra entries of the same person.

The code GT-FCE25-4989A ties together the list, the seed and the names drawn. If one comment is added or removed, or a name is swapped, the code no longer matches. That is what lets someone else check your result.

Facebook giveaway rules: what the platform asks for

Read on the platform’s own page. The link and the date are under each card.

Meta, Pages, Groups and Events Policies, "Promotions"

  • The promotion must comply with the law: give entrants the official rules, disclose offer terms and eligibility, and register it with the authorities where required.
  • Participants must fully release Meta from liability.
  • Participants must acknowledge that the promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Meta.
  • The promotion must not require or incentivize people to share, repost, tag others or publicize it in any other way.
  • Meta does not help administer the promotion; you do it at your own risk.
“You must also require participants to (a) fully release and hold Meta harmless from liability, and (b) acknowledge that the promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Meta.”

What it means for your giveaway

  • Meta’s policy says a promotion must not require or incentivize people to share, repost, tag others or publicize it in any other way. On Facebook, keep the entry to a comment, an answer or a reaction.
  • Participants must release Meta from liability and acknowledge that the promotion is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Meta. Put the sentence in the post or in your rules.
  • The same policy says a Page, group or event cannot promote online gambling without Meta’s prior written permission, and counts as gambling the games where something of monetary value is required to play and forms part of the prize, raffles included. Keep the entry free.

Frequently asked questions

Is this Facebook comment picker free?

Yes. It is free, with no sign-up and no limit on the number of comments you paste. The draw runs in your browser.

Do I have to log in with Facebook or give access to my Page?

No. The site never asks for your password or for access to your account, and it does not read comments by itself. You copy the comments and paste them, and the draw runs in your browser.

Can I pick from a post link?

No. Reading a Facebook post by link would need a login to Facebook or access to Meta’s official API, and the site has neither. Copy the comments from the post and paste them here: the steps above show how.

Can I ask people to share the post or tag friends to enter?

Not on Facebook. Meta’s Pages, Groups and Events policy says a promotion must not require or incentivize participants to share, repost, tag others or publicize it in any other way. Ask for a comment or a reaction.

Two people have the same name. Is that a problem?

With “One entry per person” on, two people with exactly the same name count as one, because a pasted list has only the name. Leave it off in that case and remove only duplicate lines.

Can I pick more than one winner?

Yes, up to 200 names in one draw, counting winners and backups. With “One entry per person” on, nobody comes out twice.

What does Facebook require for a giveaway?

That you follow the law (official rules, offer terms, eligibility, registration where required), that participants release Meta and acknowledge the promotion is not associated with Meta, and that you do not require sharing or tagging.

How do followers check the winner?

Post the verification code and the proof link in the comments. Anyone with the same list of comments can repeat the draw on the verify page and get the same winner.
